Harmonograph

Drawing Machine, 2012
Collaboration with Sid Balasubramanian, Nabil Lathiff, Prof. Jon Nakane, UBC Engineering Physics

The Harmonograph is an electro mechanic drawing machine that translates rotations of mechanical gears into large scale Lissajous-Figures: two-dimensional oscillating curves as originally created with the help of pendulums or oscilloscopes. Mechanical imprecisions and deviations compete with the original intentional figure, and both forces give rise to a distorted mathematic composition.
